As in many other scientific fields, Latin and Greek are used in the title.How the dinosaurs are called depends on the discoverer of one or another species, geographical names, the names of scientists, and even the names of their pets often flash in the names. Such semantic experiments make the names of species untranslatable, so they are used in the original language. However, when scientists are bored with inventing and telling the world original versions, such as dinosaurs, ancient lizards acquire quite digestible names, such as a tyrannosaurus (tyrant lizard) or Archeopteryx (ancient feather)
Despite the fact that the word "dinosaur" is associated with a giant animal, there were species whose representatives were not larger than the modern cat. But in order to eat the leaves of especially tall trees or to feed on their smaller relatives, some lizards had to grow up. So there were large and giant individuals. Of course, having only a skeleton on hand, it is quite difficult to guess with the necessary accuracy what a dinosaur looks like. In this, scientists are assisted by comparing skeletons with skeletons of modern animals. According to the characteristic structure of the paw joints, it is possible to understand whether a dinosaur ran or crawled, or maybe paws were used by it for grabbing handy objects and food.According to this and many other signs, knowledgeable people long and painstakingly restore the full picture, and an exact dinosaur model is obtained. In particular, it turns out that the lizard fed on, where it nested, how it got its food, how it fought off predators. The course of evolution obeys logic and if we imagine a body optimally adapted for solving all these problems, then the result will be at least not far from the truth. And skin prints, fragments of eggs, and the contents of the lizard's stomach only help in building the model.
