The drug "Tsefekon" (candles for children): dosage based on age group

Depends on the dose of body weight and age of the baby. Usually given 15 mg / kg at intervals of six hours. Once: from one month to three - 50 mg.

From three months to a year - 100 mg.

From one to three years - one candle is assigned (one hundred milligrams).

From three to ten years - 250 mg is allowed.

From ten to twelve years old - two suppositories each (250 mg).

For three days, it is allowed to use Tsefekon candles (for children). The instruction results in a dosing table by age group.

Side effect

When using the drug, there are rarely allergic and adverse reactions. It is noted that these suppositories do not cause gastrointestinal disorders. In rare cases, there is vomiting, slight nausea, diarrhea. There may be a rash on the skin and mucous membranes, swelling, itching. With prolonged intake in large quantities, the drug can cause hemolytic anemia, papillary necrosis, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and interstitial nephritis.

Contraindications

It is forbidden to give newborns to a month of age. With special care are prescribed for pathological processes of kidney and liver, Rotor syndrome, Dubin-Johnson and Gilbert syndrome. Be sure to consult a pediatrician.
