Foreign Ministry sounded the rules of behavior of Russians abroad
The memo indicates both general rules and special cases. For example, in Muslim countries it is forbidden to be interested in the life of the female part of the family and to get acquainted with it. In countries where Buddhism is common, it is not recommended to touch the children and the heads of people.
In Turkey, the sign “Okay” and “fig” are indecent (they indicate a non-traditional orientation), as well as a raised palm towards the interlocutor in Greece (an offensive gesture). It should also be reserved with words that are consonant with phrases from the Russian language - especially in countries where the languages of the Slavic group are common. As an example, the Foreign Ministry cites Serbian words such as “apple”, “disgrace” and “diarrhea” - translated as “poplar”, “theater” and “pride”.In Iran, it is undesirable to use Russian words with the syllables “kos” and “kis”, since they are beyond the literary language of the locals.
Especially carefully behave in the Foreign Ministry recommended in North Korea. It is forbidden to criticize the authorities, as well as any disobedience to the law and rules.
