Eternal nuclear reactor
In Russia, created a "perpetual motion" for nuclear submarines. A unique active zone of a nuclear reactor with a resource for the entire life cycle of nuclear submarines was created and tested at Rosatom. The so-called reactor core is its main component, which contains nuclear fuel and in which a controlled chain reaction occurs.
Such modernization will allow the Russian submarine fleet to increase the level of readiness due to the fact that Russian nuclear submarines will not need to get up to "reboot nuclear reactors." This process used to take a month.
Depending on the design of the boat and the mode of its operation, the recharging of the reactor occurs every 5-10 years. By the fourth-generation Russian nuclear submarines include "Borey" and "Ash".
