Children with Down syndrome pose for a nice photo shoot
I wrote about people with the syndrome more than once. And received a sea of negativity. I do not understand why someone denies such people the right to be called special - they are really special! And I still continue the topic.
Eight-month-old Eliza and fourteen-month-old Jorja have kindly agreed to pose for this charming photo shoot created to raise awareness of Down Syndrome.
The project was organized by midwives in Leicestershire. The goal is to show the world: there is nothing in Down syndrome that would be worth hiding from society, and there is nothing wrong with such people!
As you can see, they took the mission very seriously! The project involved the mothers of these children, they made a note of humor and fun in the project, and it is clear that in their world there is the joy of life and motherhood.
Down syndrome is caused by the presence of an extra chromosome. Most people have 46, but a child with Down syndrome has 47, and this can affect how their body develops. The syndrome is named after the British doctor John Langdon Down, who for the first time fully described the condition in 1866.
This is the calendar that turned out to be at the “Miracle in Progress” charity foundation.
"We very much hope that we can get as much understanding as possible as possible."
